The Wolf Guard are the most honoured veterans of the Space Wolves, warriors comparable to the elite of any Chapter yet chosen by a wholly Fenrisian measure. A place among them is earned not by age or years of service but by some singular feat of arms, so that their ranks mingle grizzled centurions with hot-blooded young warriors who have already achieved something extraordinary. Each is hand-picked by a Wolf Lord to stand as his chosen protector and the vanguard of his Great Company.
Many of the Wolf Guard are gifted the rarest treasure their lord can bestow, a suit of ancient and venerated Terminator armour, and packs of these warriors form the hammer-blow at the heart of many a Space Wolves assault. Encased in walls of adamantium and ceramite, they stride through the fiercest defensive fire unflinching, closing the distance no lesser troops could survive to cross before falling upon the enemy with thunder hammers, frost weapons and storm bolters.
It is the sacred charge of the Wolf Guard to be both the shield that guards their lord and the blade that strikes for him, and in Terminator plate they fulfil that oath in its most uncompromising form. Their masters heap upon them the finest wargear the Chapter can offer, antique weapons and master-forged armour handed down through the ages, and where a knot of Wolf Guard Terminators teleports into the fray the enemy knows that the Space Wolves have committed their very best to the killing.
