Tools

Interactive utilities for list-building, painting, and probability. They work across Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, and The Old World. No sign-up.

Learn & choose

Work out which army is yours before you buy any plastic.

Faction Chooser

Start here if you don't have an army yet. Answer a few questions about how you like to play and paint, and it narrows the field to a shortlist worth reading up on.

Example: answering melee-leaning, elite, and simpler rules for Warhammer 40,000 puts Space Marines at the top of the shortlist.

Find my faction
  • QuizzesWhich faction or Space Marine chapter fits your personality.
  • Tier ListsEvery faction ranked S through D. One current-meta take.

Three tools overlap here on purpose: the Chooser recommends factions from your answers, the quizzes are just for fun, and the tier list is one opinionated ranking of the current meta.

Build & play

List-writing and probability for the tabletop.

Mathhammer Calculator

Reach for this when you're weighing a weapon against a target: it computes the exact probability of every outcome in an attack sequence, not just the average, so you can see how swingy a choice really is.

Example: 20 attacks hitting on 3+, wounding on 4+ at AP-1 into a 3+ save (damage 1, 2-wound models) average 13.3 hits and 1.4 models slain, killing 2 or more 43% of the time.
