Editorial policy
Warhammerism is an independent, unofficial reference and hobby resource. Our aim is to help readers understand the settings and make practical hobby decisions. We are not Games Workshop and do not issue official rules or rulings.
Sources and factual accuracy
A reference should support the specific claim beside it. Prefer the publication containing the information, an official announcement, or a clearly identified secondary account. Record editions, pages or sections where possible. Do not invent citations, quote a source you have not checked, or turn an in-universe assertion into an established fact.
The archive is a work in progress. Many existing entries still lack citations and a completed editorial review. Their presence here is not a claim that every statement has been verified. Use the references and review line on a page to judge its current state. For rules, consult the relevant current official documents and your event organizer.
AI-assisted material
AI tools have been used to help draft parts of the encyclopedia, produce illustrations and develop the site. AI output can contain mistakes, invented details or misleading emphasis. It is not evidence. We do not describe generated writing as personal gameplay experience or generated images as photographs of real painted miniatures.
The original guides explain planning and research methods. Their setting and source links provide context; they do not imply an expert personally tested every army or product. Contributors should disclose material AI assistance and check the resulting claims against sources they actually consulted.
Site-generated illustrations are unofficial interpretations, not authoritative depictions or official Games Workshop art. Member uploads require a rights statement and moderation before public access.
What review states mean
- Awaiting review / needs review: a factual review has not been recorded, or a subsequent change requires another check.
- Stub: an entry needs substantial development before it can serve as a useful reference.
- Reviewed: an editor has recorded a source and scope check. This is not a guarantee against all errors or later changes.
- Featured: an editor has selected a reviewed entry for prominence.
Dates describe actual publication, changes or recorded reviews. We do not automatically change an article's date to make it appear fresh. Search visibility uses completeness checks and explicit editorial decisions; there is no magic word count that establishes quality.
Contributions and corrections
Anyone can report a correction. Signed-in members can propose edits through article Edit tabs or submit a new article. Proposals remain private until accepted. Moderators check relevance, sources, originality, clarity and rights. Accepted work is credited in page history and the contributor's public profile. Revisions preserve the before-and-after text.
A source check can establish that a citation is relevant without completing a whole-page review. Those two activities are recorded separately. Changes to reviewed text reset its review status. Concurrent or stale proposals must be reconciled rather than overwriting newer work.
Do not submit copyrighted pages, fabricated quotations, personal information about others, promotional spam or material you lack permission to publish. Focus criticism on claims and evidence. Recognition is based on distinct pages improved through accepted work, not the number of submissions.
Automated news and maintenance
The news feed discovers headlines and links from configured publishers, filters relevance, removes close duplicates and keeps original publication dates. Readers follow the link to the publisher's reporting. Automated ingestion does not certify the accuracy of a report. Rumours remain labelled as such; community reporting is not official confirmation.
Scheduled checks track source failures and freshness. Automation does not publish new generated encyclopedia text or approve member claims. A reliable wiki still needs people to review factual changes and respond to corrections.
Advertising and commercial independence
Advertising is disabled until explicitly configured. Eligible banner placements require reviewed, substantial, indexable content and checked citations. Account, navigation, policy and tool-control surfaces do not carry these banners. Advertisements are labelled and separated from article text. Optional advertising also depends on the visitor's preferences and the configured certified consent system.
Ads and affiliate relationships do not make a claim true or determine an editorial verdict. See the affiliate disclosure and privacy policy. Contact us or flag a rights concern when a page or image needs attention.
