Flesh Tearers

Cursed with the worst of Sanguinius's flaws, the Flesh Tearers wage war on the knife's edge of madness. They are the most savage of the Blood Angels' sons, forever fighting their own extinction.

A Second Founding successor of the Blood Angels, the Flesh Tearers carry their progenitor's noble legacy alongside a terrible burden. The twin genetic curses of the sons of Sanguinius, the blood-hunger of the Red Thirst and the murderous delirium of the Black Rage, afflict them more severely than any other Chapter of that lineage, driving them ever closer to ruin.

Their home is Cretacia, a savage death world of jungle and monstrous reptilian predators, and its brutal character is stamped upon its sons. The Flesh Tearers favour the close assault above all other forms of war, tearing into their enemies with chainblade and fist in a fury barely held in check. For long centuries the Chapter's Sanguinary Priests warned that attrition and the rising tide of the Rage would soon see the Flesh Tearers extinguished altogether.

Under Chapter Master Gabriel Seth, the Guardian of Rage, they threw themselves into unending war, answering distress calls across the Imperium in a desperate bid to matter before the end. The arrival of Primaris reinforcements has since stabilised their failing gene-seed and pulled the Chapter back from the brink, though their crimson-and-black warriors remain among the most ferocious blades the Emperor can loose upon His foes.
