Red Scorpions

Zealous guardians of genetic purity, the Red Scorpions hold to the Codex Astartes with obsessive rigour and abhor all taint of mutation. Their origins are a mystery even to themselves.

Contents

The Red Scorpions are a fleet-based Chapter whose founding and gene-lineage have been lost to record, a mystery the Chapter itself makes no effort to solve. What defines them instead is their fanatical devotion to purity, of gene-seed, of doctrine and of the human form. Their progenoid glands are said to retain a purity far exceeding that of almost any other Chapter, a sanctity they guard with near-religious zeal.

With no home world to anchor them, the Red Scorpions wage a perpetual crusade from their fleet, striking wherever the Emperor's enemies are found. They adhere to the Codex Astartes with a precision that reportedly exceeds even that of the Ultramarines, and they hold abhumans, mutants and xenos in absolute contempt, refusing any alliance that might compromise their bloodline or their beliefs.

Under commanders such as Lord High Commander Carab Culln, the Chapter has fought across countless war zones, including the fratricidal bloodletting of the Badab War, where they stood firmly with the loyalist cause. Clad in pale grey and gold and bearing the sigil of the red scorpion, they are respected and feared in equal measure: austere, uncompromising warriors who trust in the sanctity of their own flesh above all else.
