White Scars

Swift as the tempest and pitiless as a steppe winter, the White Scars strike in lightning assaults and are gone before the foe can answer. They are the hunters of the Adeptus Astartes, sons of the Great Khan.

Raised as the Vth Legion from the gene-seed of Jaghatai Khan, the White Scars carry the wild spirit of Chogoris into the darkness of the 41st Millennium. Their primarch was cast upon that feudal steppe world, known to Imperial cartographers as Mundus Planus, where he forged the scattered horse-tribes into a single nation before the Emperor's coming. That heritage of the open plain and the swift raid endures in every battle-brother.

The Chapter wages war as its founder taught: in sudden, overwhelming motion. Massed bikes, land speeders and jump troops fall upon the enemy like a breaking storm, shattering command posts and severing supply lines before withdrawing beyond reach. To the White Scars, war is the greatest hunt of all, and a foe run to ground is a prize to be claimed with the blade. Their Stormseers, unlike the Librarians of other Chapters, channel their psychic gifts through the elemental lore of Chogoris, calling upon wind and sky as their ancestors once did.

Divided into brotherhoods rather than by rigid Codex custom, the White Scars prize freedom, honour and the bond between the khan and his riders. Though they long held themselves apart from the Imperium's bureaucracy, their loyalty has never faltered, and warriors such as Kor'sarro Khan, the Master of the Hunt, still ride out to run the enemies of Mankind into the dust.
