Minotaurs

Bronze-clad and merciless, the Minotaurs answer only to the High Lords of Terra and turn their wrath upon Space Marines themselves. Their true history is sealed beyond even the Inquisition's reach.

Few Chapters inspire as much unease among the Adeptus Astartes as the Minotaurs. Clad in heavy bronze plate adorned with bull-horns and labyrinthine motifs, they fight with a gladiatorial brutality that has earned them a fearsome name, and their origins are shrouded in deliberate secrecy. Much of the Chapter's history has been suppressed under binding edicts of the High Lords of Terra, sealed so completely that not even the Inquisition may break them.

When the Minotaurs reappeared in Imperial records roughly a thousand years ago, it was in a role few Chapters would willingly accept: as the mailed fist of the High Lords, dispatched to chastise, apprehend or destroy other Space Marines who had strayed from obedience. They answer such summons swiftly and without question, a readiness to turn their blades upon their own kind that has made them widely distrusted.

This grim reputation was cemented during the Badab War, where the Minotaurs served as the loyalist authorities' most brutal instrument against the Secessionist Chapters. Led by the ancient and heavily augmented Asterion Moloc, the Brazen Warlord, they remain an enigma: superbly equipped, utterly ruthless, and bound by loyalties that reach into the highest and most shadowed councils of the Imperium.
