The Wolf Guard are the mightiest warriors of the Space Wolves, veterans who have proven themselves in a hundred battles and earned a place at the side of their Chapter's leaders. They are not a single company but an elite drawn from across the Chapter, each a hero whose deeds have won them the honour of the grey wolf pelt worn across their shoulders.
Unlike the rigid structure of other Space Marines, the Space Wolves organise their veterans as a warrior aristocracy. The greatest Wolf Guard are appointed as Wolf Guard Battle Leaders, entrusted to lead the packs of younger warriors into war, while others form the personal retinue of the Wolf Lords who rule the Chapter's Great Companies. To ride at a lord's side is a mark of the highest esteem.
Armed with the finest wargear the Chapter can provide, from frost blades to Terminator plate, the Wolf Guard fight with the ferocity of the beast whose name they bear. They are the tip of the Space Wolves' spear, the trusted few who stand where the fighting is fiercest and the glory greatest.
