Ezekiel is the foremost psyker of the Dark Angels and the Grand Master of their Librarius, a warrior whose titles alone speak to the trust placed in him: Keeper of the Book of Salvation and Holder of the Keys. As master of the Chapter's psykers he stands high within the Inner Circle, his mind a weapon and a vault in equal measure, and his counsel is sought wherever the hidden war demands both power and discretion.
He is best known as the guardian of the Book of Salvation, a tome that records the names of every Fallen Angel taken by the Dark Angels or their brother Chapters among the Unforgiven, each name set down in the captive's own blood. So sacred is this ledger that it will not leave Ezekiel's side while breath remains in his body, for it is at once a roll of the guilty, a record of the hunt's slow progress, and a reminder of how many traitors yet walk free.
Into battle Ezekiel bears Traitor's Bane, a force weapon that radiates a fell and baleful power. It is whispered that the souls of the Fallen it has slain are bound within its blade, and that its aspect darkens and the shadows draw close about it whenever one of the lost sons of the Lion draws near. In his hands the weapon is both an instrument of psychic destruction and a hunter's tool, keening toward the very quarry the Chapter has sworn to run down.
Ezekiel's scarred face bears witness to his devotion. He lost his left eye at the Battle for the Sularian Gate, struck down amid the horde of a great Ork Waaagh, and though a simple bionic was fitted so that he might return at once to lead the counterattack that shattered the greenskin army, he has refused ever since to have it replaced with a finer or less conspicuous augmetic. He keeps the crude replacement as a mark of respect for the brothers who fell beside him that day, a small and stubborn monument to loss carried into every battle since.
