Crimson Fists

Battered but unbroken, the Crimson Fists rose from the ashes of near-extinction to become a byword for defiance. Sons of Dorn, they fight on when all hope is spent.

A Second Founding Chapter descended from Rogal Dorn's Imperial Fists, the Crimson Fists inherited their progenitor's genius for siege warfare and his unyielding stubbornness. They took as their home Rynn's World, a settled world on the Imperium's eastern reaches, and served with quiet distinction for many centuries.

Then came catastrophe. In 989.M41 the Ork warlord Snagrod, the Arch-Arsonist of Charadon, launched a vast WAAAGH! against Rynn's World. In the disaster that followed, a defence missile malfunctioned and detonated within the Chapter's own fortress-monastery, obliterating the bulk of the Crimson Fists in a single, terrible instant. Barely a company survived.

What followed became legend. Chapter Master Pedro Kantor gathered the shattered remnants and waged a desperate war of survival, holding the ruined capital of New Rynn City through an eighteen-month siege until Imperial relief finally arrived. Rather than break the Chapter, the ordeal tempered it. To this day the Crimson Fists rebuild slowly and fight with the grim conviction of those who have already stared into oblivion, their blue plate and blood-red gauntlets a promise that they will not fall while a single brother yet draws breath.
