Of all the Aspect Shrines, that of the Dire Avengers is the most widespread, and its warriors are often the first Aspect Warriors a foe encounters when facing a craftworld host. They embody the aspect of Khaine as the noble avenger, the disciplined defender who takes up the blade in righteous retribution, and their bearing reflects this ideal: proud, controlled, and utterly committed to the martial Path they walk.
Dire Avengers carry the avenger shuriken catapult, a longer and more refined weapon than the version borne by Guardians, capable of unleashing a storm of razored discs with lethal accuracy. In battle they serve as the versatile backbone of an Aspect-heavy army, equally suited to holding an objective, screening advancing forces, or delivering a concentrated hail of fire into a chosen target. Each squad is led by an Exarch, a warrior so consumed by the Path of the Warrior that they can no longer leave it, whose battle-honed prowess and fearsome wargear elevate the entire shrine's effectiveness. Where the Dire Avengers stand, the enemy finds a disciplined line that will not easily break.
