The War Walker is a light bipedal engine that ranges before the Aeldari battle-line, its open cockpit cradling a single pilot linked to the machine through a spirit-stone matrix. Nimble and swift for a walker, it picks its way across broken ground on slender, articulated legs, using every ruin and rise to screen its advance until the moment comes to unleash its guns.
Each War Walker carries two heavy weapons upon its flanking mounts, a versatility that lets the pilot tailor the machine to any foe, from shuriken cannons that shred infantry to bright lances that gut battle tanks. Fielded in packs, they can concentrate a startling weight of fire into a single devastating volley before scattering back into cover.
The pilot's chief duty, though, is to see. Serving as the eyes of the craftworld army, a War Walker ghosts along the edges of the battlefield, marking the enemy's dispositions and relaying them to the farseers who guide the host. It is a dangerous vocation, for a scout who strays too far is easily surrounded, and many a walker has been lost pushing one span too close to the foe.
