Shuriken Catapult

The shuriken catapult is the quintessential infantry weapon of the Aeldari, an elegant arm that hurls a stream of monomolecular discs at ferocious speed. Each razor-thin projectile is sliced from a solid core of psycho-plastic ammunition and accelerated by a gravitic field, so that a single magazine yields hundreds of wafer-edged shurikens. These discs are so keenly bladed that they can shear through armour and flesh alike, and a sustained burst can reduce a target to ribbons.

True to the artistry of their makers, shuriken weapons are graceful, curved, and beautiful to behold, yet lethal beyond their delicate appearance. They are near-silent compared to the crude firearms of other races, releasing only a soft hiss as they unleash their deadly hail. The Aeldari field a whole family of such arms, from the pistol-sized to the heavier shuriken cannon mounted on their sleek war machines.

For the Aeldari, these weapons embody a philosophy of war built on speed, precision, and economy of effort rather than brute force. A dying race that cannot spare a single warrior, they favour arms that let them strike swiftly and withdraw before an enemy can retaliate. The shuriken catapult, effortless and refined yet horrifyingly effective, perfectly captures the deadly elegance of the Aeldari way of battle.
