Where the Guardian Defenders of the craftworlds hold the line with massed shuriken fire, the Storm Guardians embrace a fiercer role, arming themselves for the brutal intimacy of close combat. They are citizen-soldiers all the same, artisans and poets and pilots who have set aside their peaceful callings to answer the call to war, but the martial trance that grips them drives them forward rather than holding them back.
Into each squad are woven a pair of heavier weapons, most often fusion guns whose searing beams can gut a tank, so that even this militia carries the means to fell far mightier foes. The rest bear shuriken pistols and close-combat blades, closing the distance at a dead sprint to overwhelm the enemy in a whirlwind of monomolecular edges.
Storm Guardians embody the desperation and the courage of a people forever short of soldiers. They lack the discipline and skill of the Aspect Warriors whose shrines they will never join, yet in the crucial hour they throw themselves against horrors that seasoned veterans might balk at, buying with their lives the moments their craftworld needs to survive.
