Da Kunnin' Warlord

Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub

A rich, cunning, and unusually patient Bad Moons Warlord whose genius for battlefield strategy and love of tellyporta trickery make him a rival to Ghazghkull himself.

Nazdreg Ug Urdgrub is, on the surface, everything a Bad Moons Warlord is expected to be: enormously rich, gaudily over-equipped, overindulgent, and running distinctly to fat. Look past the ostentation, though, and he is something considerably more dangerous, one of the most intelligent and genuinely cunning battlefield commanders in all of Orkdom. He speaks fluent, if brutal, Imperial Gothic, grasps the value of rewards and punishments well enough to wring real productivity out of his hapless slaves, and applies a patience almost unheard of among greenskins to the business of winning wars.

That marriage of wealth and wits has made Nazdreg a scourge of the Imperium. His warband is lavishly armed even by Bad Moons standards, and he loves nothing better than leading it on raids that both fatten his hoard and prove exactly how well-equipped his Boyz are. He has laid waste to a string of Imperial worlds and outfought or outsmarted every force sent to stop him, and it is widely acknowledged that were he ever to summon the ambition to raise a full Waaagh!, he would rank among the deadliest warlords the galaxy has ever faced, a rival, in raw threat, to Ghazghkull Thraka himself.

Nazdreg's most fateful venture was his alliance with that very Warlord. Intrigued by Nazdreg's experimental tellyporta technology, Ghazghkull joined him in field-testing the devices, and though the early trials produced their share of misfires and disasters, Nazdreg's Meks eventually perfected the design. It was a characteristically Bad Moons contribution to the greenskin cause: not brute force, but a clever piece of kit that changed how Orks could make war.

His cunning shows most plainly in how he survives defeat. When his space hulk crash-landed on the doomed world of Medusa V and his Orks were ultimately beaten, Nazdreg still contrived to escape offworld, seizing a damaged Imperial transport and forcing captured humans to broadcast a false distress call. When a warship answered the plea and drew close to help, his Boyz boarded and took it, and Nazdreg sailed away from yet another supposed defeat richer, wiser, and entirely unbowed.
