Mankind's Bane

Ghazghkull Thraka

The most feared Ork Warlord in the galaxy, whose Waaagh!s have leveled Imperial worlds and who claims the Ork gods speak through him.

Few names cause more dread across the Imperium than Ghazghkull Thraka, an Ork Warboss whose Waaagh!s have grown so vast and so destructive that entire sectors have been abandoned rather than face him. Born of the Goffs clan, Ghazghkull distinguished himself early through the kind of relentless, overwhelming brutality that Ork culture instinctively recognizes as leadership material, but what set him apart from every other ambitious Warboss was a conviction that struck him after a devastating head injury: that the Ork gods Gork and Mork spoke directly through him.

Whether Ghazghkull's claim to divine prophecy is true or simply a very convincing delusion matters little in practice, since the effect on Ork morale has been the same either way. Mobs that would normally splinter and squabble over leadership instead unite under Ghazghkull with an almost religious fervor, and his Waaagh!s have repeatedly grown to a scale that overwhelms Imperial defenses built to withstand far smaller greenskin incursions.

A War That Never Quite Ends

Ghazghkull's most infamous campaign, the assault on the forge world of Armageddon, has been fought and refought across generations, with the Great Warlord retreating only to return years or decades later at the head of an even larger horde. Imperial commanders have learned to fear not his defeat so much as his patience, since Ghazghkull treats every setback as a temporary delay rather than a true loss, content to rebuild his strength among the stars until the day he decides Armageddon, or some other unlucky world, deserves his attention once more.
