The Ork Gods

Gork

One of the twin brutal gods of the Orks, the embodiment of raw strength and brutal cunning who drives the greenskins to endless war

Gork is one of the two brutal gods of the Orks, the divine embodiment of strength and violence who, alongside his brother Mork, drives the greenskin race to unending war across the galaxy. The Orks hold that Gork is the god of brutal cunning — he favours the straightforward smash, the head-on charge, the honest crumping of a foe beneath a mighty fist. To an Ork there is no higher praise than to fight in a manner Gork would admire: loud, direct, and utterly overwhelming.

The eternal debate among Orkdom — never truly settled, and often the cause of a good scrap — is which of the two brothers is the cleverer and which the stronger, and exactly which one is which. Gork and Mork are forever swapping places in the telling, so that no greenskin can quite say where one god ends and the other begins. What matters is that both approve of a proper fight, and that the biggest, meanest, most warlike Orks are surely doing their gods' will.

Gork's temperament runs through every Ork who charges screaming into battle without a thought for tactics beyond hitting the enemy as hard as possible. When the greenskin tide rolls across a world and the sky rings with the bellow of 'Waaagh!', it is Gork's raw and brutal spirit that lends the Orks their savage strength — the god of the swung fist and the broken foe, worshipped in the only way an Ork truly knows how: by winning.
