The Tyrannofex is one of the swarm's dedicated heavy weapon beasts, a hulking organism bred around a single terrible purpose: the destruction of armour and fortification. Its most feared bio-weapon is the rupture cannon, a cavernous organic gun that hurls dense, barbed projectiles with enough force to punch clean through a battle tank's hull, leaving the crew to the swarm's mercy.
Sheathed in some of the thickest chitin any Tyranid creature possesses, the Tyrannofex is a slow but nearly immovable presence, able to weather sustained fire while it methodically ranges in on its targets. Alternative bio-weapon strains trade the rupture cannon for a fleshborer hive that vomits a storm of living ammunition into massed infantry. Whatever its armament, the Tyrannofex functions as mobile heavy artillery for the Great Devourer, grinding down the entrenched positions and armoured spearheads that might otherwise blunt the swarm's advance.
