Hive Fleet Kronos

Kronos is a weapon forged for a single purpose: to devour the galaxy's biomass before the powers of Chaos can corrupt it beyond consuming. Splintering from Leviathan in the age of the Great Rift, it was shaped by the Hive Mind specifically to hunt daemons and their worshippers, ensuring that the feast the swarm covets is not spoiled by the encroaching poison of the warp.

Wherever Kronos travels, the Shadow in the Warp deepens into something near absolute. All synapse creatures dampen psychic power, but around Kronos the effect swells into a smothering aura of nullity that rolls ahead of the swarm, agonising enemy psykers and draining their spiritual strength to feed its own broods. This suffocating silence chokes off sorcery, causes daemons to wither and unravel, and can force shut the very rifts through which the servants of the Dark Gods claw their way into reality.

Because those servants revel in close slaughter, Kronos refuses to grant it to them. Its warrior-forms carry a disproportionate share of ranged bio-weapons, and the fleet fights at a distance, drowning its foes beneath a storm of living ammunition rather than meeting them blade to blade. Its beasts wield fearsome guns such as the balethorn cannon, whose barbs punch through any armour or energy shield ever raised against them. At clashes like the Second Battle of Shadowbrink, its artillery-creatures blasted apart thousands of warp-born horrors even as the tears in reality knitted themselves quietly closed.
