The Maleceptor is a rare and monstrous expression of the Hive Mind made flesh, a great psychic node grown to channel the swarm's crushing will directly onto the battlefield. Its vast cranial dome swells with synaptic power, and from it the creature projects devastating waves of mental force that can rupture the minds of an entire squad in a single silent instant.
Beyond its raw psychic might, the Maleceptor serves as a powerful synapse creature, anchoring lesser Tyranid organisms in the vicinity to the Hive Mind's control so they fight with cold, purposeful ferocity. Its bulk is armoured in dense chitin and it wields massive scything limbs for those foes who close the distance, but its true horror is invisible. Enemies feel it as a pressure behind the eyes, a dread certainty of alien attention, moments before their thoughts are torn apart. Where a Maleceptor walks, the will of the devourer is absolute.
