The Ophydian Destroyers are among the most unsettling servants of the Destroyer Cults, necrons who have shed their legs for a long, coiling metal body better suited to the hunt. They do not march to war; they submerge, tunnelling through the ground and through the thin places between dimensions with a sinuous, boneless grace. When they surface they do so without warning, bursting upward beneath an enemy formation in a spray of soil and severed limbs, threshers and hyperphase blades scissoring through flesh faster than the eye can follow. The Destroyer Cult that claims them has embraced a nihilistic madness, an obsession with the erasure of all life, and the Ophydians are its perfect expression: patient, subterranean, inescapable. There is no line they cannot flank, no bunker whose floor they cannot rise through. For the enemies of the Necrons, the ground itself becomes a traitor, and every tremor underfoot a promise of the blades to come.
