Triarch Stalker

A towering hexapedal walker piloted by the Triarch's enforcers, guiding the fire of nearby phalanxes while its heat ray melts armour to slag.

The Triarch Stalker is a war engine as unnerving as it is deadly, a hexapedal walker that stalks the battlefield on six jointed limbs like some vast mechanical arachnid. Piloted by the Triarch Praetorians, it looms above the phalanxes it accompanies, slicing talons and heavy weaponry poised to strike, an ancient predator roused from a sleep of aeons to hunt once more among the ruins of the galaxy.

What makes the Stalker most valuable is not its own considerable firepower but its role as a coordinator of slaughter. Through a sophisticated targeting relay, it feeds precise firing data to the necron formations around it, so that a single phalanx's volley falls with pinpoint accuracy exactly where the Stalker directs. Under its guidance, an entire battle line becomes a single instrument of destruction, every gauss beam and tesla arc converging on the targets the walker has marked for death.

The Stalker defends itself with the same techno-arcana that shields the greatest necron war engines. A layer of quantum shielding flickers into being only at the instant of impact, turning aside the first blow that would otherwise cripple it before dissipating to recharge. Its own armament varies from the versatile heat ray, which can be focused into a fusion lance to gut a tank or dispersed into a gout of flame to scour infantry from cover, to particle shredders and heavy gauss cannons for tearing through the heaviest armour.
