Immortals

Elite necron soldiers built with sturdier frames and heavier weapons, entrusted with tasks too important for the common Warrior rank.

Immortals occupy a rung above the common Necron Warrior in both construction and purpose, their necrodermis bodies noticeably more robust and their armaments considerably more punishing. Where Warriors are produced and deployed in overwhelming numbers, Immortals represent a more deliberate investment of a dynasty's resources, built to withstand punishment that would cripple lesser constructs and to dish out proportionally greater ruin in return.

Their standard armament, a weapon capable of both disintegrating flesh and metal alike, marks them as troops built for sustained, heavy engagements rather than simple attritional advances. Overlords often deploy Immortals to anchor a battle line, hold ground against determined counterattacks, or spearhead assaults where ordinary Warriors would be ground down too quickly to accomplish the objective.

Some tomb complexes further specialize their Immortals with variant weaponry tuned to atomize matter across a wider area, trading precision for devastating area denial. Whatever their configuration, Immortals carry themselves with a bearing that even other necrons seem to recognize as a cut above the ordinary soldier, silent testimony to the greater care taken in their making.
