Anrakyr

Anrakyr the Traveller is a rarity among the awakened necrons, an overlord who emerged from the long sleep with his mind not merely intact but afire with singular purpose. Where lesser nobles woke confused, corroded or consumed by petty ambition, Anrakyr rose with a clear and burning conviction: that the fractured dynasties must be reunited, the sleeping tombs roused, and the ancient empire of the necrons rebuilt from the ashes of its long dormancy. He embraced this mission as nothing less than destiny.

To pursue it, Anrakyr did something almost unthinkable for a necron lord. He renounced his rule over his own crownworld of Pyrrhia, abdicating the throne and the comforts of dominion to become a wanderer among the stars. In his place he took to the void at the head of the Pyrrhian Eternals, an elite legion of immortals drawn from his homeworld, and set out to roam the galaxy from tomb world to tomb world, aiding the necron cause wherever fortune carried him.

His travels are a ceaseless campaign of reawakening and vengeance. Where he finds a slumbering tomb threatened, Anrakyr rouses its legions to defence; where he finds one already violated by looters and interlopers, his wrath is terrible and absolute. He is utterly without mercy toward any lesser race caught despoiling a dormant crypt, yet he is no mere butcher, for he abides by an ancient warrior's code and will offer honourable terms to a defeated foe who has fought with courage.

In battle Anrakyr wields fearsome gifts, not least a technomantic mastery that lets him reach out and seize the machine-spirits of enemy war engines, turning an army's own tanks and guns against it in an instant. His victories are legion, from the reawakening of countless tombs to the breaking of the Silver Skulls at Dreadpeak, and with every campaign the Traveller draws the scattered necrons a little closer to the unified empire he is determined to see reborn before his long journey ends.
