Skarbrand

In the earliest ages of slaughter, Skarbrand was the greatest of all Bloodthirsters and the foremost general of Khorne's countless legions. No daemon spilled more blood in the Blood God's name, and none stood higher in his favour. Then Tzeentch, ever the schemer, worked his poison, whispering and conniving until Skarbrand's already boundless wrath was stoked past all reason, and in a moment of blind fury the Bloodthirster raised his axe and struck a blow against Khorne himself.

No transgression could be greater. So enraged was the Blood God that he seized his mightiest servant by the throat and throttled him until every scrap of thought, memory and self had been crushed from him, leaving nothing behind but the raw, screaming rage that had guided the fateful stroke. Then Khorne hurled him bodily from the brass throne, and Skarbrand blazed across the Realm of Chaos like a falling star for eight days and nights, gouging a trail of fire and devastation through the domains of the gods before at last he struck the ground.

What rose from that crater was no longer a general but a force of pure destruction, a daemon emptied of all purpose save the shedding of blood. Skarbrand now wanders realspace and the Warp alike in a ceaseless rampage, and the carnage he wreaks in his exile dwarfs anything he achieved as Khorne's favoured champion. Herein lies the Blood God's cruellest jest, for the cast-out Bloodthirster serves his master more devotedly in disgrace than ever he did in glory.

He wields the twin axes Slaughter and Carnage, and needs no cunning to use them, for his fury is a weapon in itself. His every bellow carries the concentrated rage of a betrayed god, sundering minds and driving mortal and daemon alike into berserk frenzy, and few foes can stand before him and live. Skarbrand knows only that all things must bleed, and toward that end alone he brings his axes down, over and over, until the world around him is drowned in red.
