Daemons of Nurgle

The Daemons of Nurgle are the joyful children of decay, shambling hosts who spread pestilence with something close to affection. They embody the endurance of life through suffering, the resilience that outlasts despair, and the grim comfort of accepting the inevitable. Slow, patient, and all but impossible to destroy through attrition, they advance in cheerful multitudes, their bloated forms wreathed in flies, laughing as they gift the living with rot beyond counting.

The Daemons of Nurgle are the most paradoxical of the warp's servants, for their patron is a god of both death and desperate vitality. Nurgle loves his creations and, in his own monstrous way, loves the mortals he infects, seeing each new plague as a gift bestowed with genuine generosity. His daemons reflect this: rotund, contented, and endlessly patient, they shuffle into battle wearing perpetual smiles even as their bodies split with corruption.

At the heart of every Nurgle host march the plaguebearers, tally-keepers who count the spread of disease with mindless devotion, backed by swarms of gleeful nurglings and the lumbering bulk of the great unclean ones. Their strength lies not in speed or fury but in sheer, grinding resilience. Wounds that would fell any other foe are shrugged off, poured out, or simply ignored, and their numbers seem to grow rather than diminish under fire. To fight the Daemons of Nurgle is to wage war against entropy itself, an enemy that does not tire, does not despair, and greets every setback with the same rotting good cheer.
