The Oracle of Tzeentch

Kairos Fateweaver

Kairos Fateweaver is the greatest oracle of Tzeentch, a two-headed Lord of Change who gazes upon both past and future at once. One head speaks of all that has been, the other of all that may yet be, though the truth is forever tangled with lies. Reckoned the mightiest sorcerer among the daemonic legions, he serves as the living embodiment of his master's endless scheming, and his prophecies have shaped the course of wars across ten thousand years.

The Two-Headed Oracle

Kairos Fateweaver is the most celebrated servant of the Changer of the Ways, a greater daemon unlike any other in the daemonic legions. Where a typical Lord of Change bears a single avian head, Kairos possesses two, and therein lies his terrible gift. One head gazes eternally into the past, holding perfect knowledge of everything that has ever occurred; the other stares forward into the boiling sea of possibility, glimpsing all the futures that might yet come to pass. Between them, Kairos perceives the entire tapestry of fate, and it is this that makes him the supreme oracle of his god.

The Price of Foresight

Yet Kairos's knowledge is a curse as much as a blessing. According to the lore of the warp, he was once granted a draught from a fountain of pure foresight, and the flood of infinite knowledge shattered his mind and his memory both. Now the two heads speak endlessly, one of truths from ages past, the other of prophecies not yet realised, but neither can be wholly trusted. Past and future blur together in his fractured awareness, and even Kairos himself cannot always be certain which of his utterances are truth and which are lies. This uncertainty is entirely fitting for a servant of Tzeentch, the god of deception, for a prophecy that might be false is a weapon more dangerous than any blade.

Master of Sorcery

Among the daemons, Kairos is reckoned the mightiest wielder of magic, capable of unleashing sorcery of staggering power. He can twist the flow of fate itself, turning an enemy's certain victory into ruin or plucking triumph from the jaws of disaster through means no mortal could anticipate. He hoards secrets as a miser hoards gold, and it is said he keeps count of nine hundred and ninety-nine of the greatest mysteries of the universe, forever seeking the final secret that will complete his impossible collection. Warlords and sorcerers alike have sought him out to barter for glimpses of the future, and many have been ruined by the truths, or lies, he chose to share.

Puppeteer of the Great Game

Kairos rarely fights as a common warrior, for his true weapon is knowledge. When he manifests upon a battlefield, he does so as the architect of a scheme laid down long before, orchestrating the movements of daemonic legions and mortal dupes alike toward ends that serve his master's incomprehensible designs. He delights in the Great Game, the eternal contest of scheming that consumes the four Ruinous Powers, and few play it so masterfully. Even his apparent defeats often prove to be gambits in a longer strategy, moves sacrificed to secure a greater prize. To bargain with Kairos Fateweaver is to gamble with fate itself, and the house, as ever in the service of Tzeentch, always wins in the end.
