Yndrasta

Yndrasta, the Celestial Spear, is a champion of the Stormcast Eternals and Sigmar's Prime Huntress. Her defining task is the pursuit of the Mortal Realms' most dangerous beasts. Her named weapons are the spear Thengavar and the Blade of the High Heavens.[1][2]

Mortal origin and Reforging[edit]

The official 2021 introduction describes Yndrasta as the chieftain of a nation in Ghur, riding a Pegasus alongside its knights. When Doombreed threatened her people, she fought him to gain time for their escape. Mortally wounded, she called on Sigmar to strike them both. The account says Sigmar lifted her soul to Azyr and personally oversaw her Reforging, granting her extraordinary gifts and her hunting role.[1]

This is a specific origin story. It should not be expanded into an uncited catalogue of victories or supernatural feats. Her general reputation as a monster hunter does not substantiate every impressive anecdote that might sound appropriate to the character.

Yndrasta in fiction[edit]

Noah Van Nguyen's Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear follows her hunt in Ghur. The official novel announcement places the sled-city of Riika-Min under threat from a great kraken.[2] That description establishes the premise, not the outcome of the story. Readers looking for her characterization should consult the novel rather than treating a promotional synopsis as a complete account.

One useful question to bring to the story is how the inhabitants of a threatened city experience the arrival of such a powerful protector. This is a reading prompt, not a claim about a particular scene or ending.

Background and game rules[edit]

Yndrasta's visual identity, narrative role and tabletop profile are different kinds of information. Her winged miniature and named weapons identify the character; an old rules preview cannot tell you her current cost or abilities.
