Morathi

Morathi, the Hag Sorceress, is the mother of the Witch King and, in her own right, one of the most dangerous beings in the world. Once a bride of Aenarion, she has preserved her terrible beauty across thousands of years through dark arts and darker sacrifices, remaining outwardly a maiden of breathtaking loveliness while her soul has curdled into something ancient and monstrous. She is a sorceress of formidable power and a schemer without equal, and there is no intrigue in Naggaroth in which her hand cannot be found, no rival she has not outlived or destroyed.

It was Morathi who founded the Cult of Khaine and bound the druchii to the worship of the Lord of Murder, and through her Witch Elves and her convents of sorceresses she holds a grip upon the black cities that rivals her son's own. Malekith rules Naggaroth, but it is often Morathi who decides what he shall rule over, guiding, goading, and manipulating even the Witch King toward the ends she desires. She rides to war upon a dark pegasus, wreathed in deadly magic, and those who mistake her beauty for weakness do not live to correct the error. Cruel, brilliant, and insatiable, Morathi is the poisoned root from which all Naggaroth grows.
