Malekith

Malekith, the Witch King, is the deathless master of Naggaroth and the eternal enemy of his own kin. He is the son of Aenarion, the first and greatest Phoenix King, and of the sorceress Morathi, and from birth he was raised to believe the throne of Ulthuan his by right. When the elves chose another to succeed his father, Malekith's pride could not bear it. In a bid to seize the crown he cast himself into the sacred flame of Asuryan, trusting his blood to see him blessed as a true king — but the fire found him wanting, and burned him instead near to death, scarring him beyond healing.

From that agony was born the Witch King. Encased forever in a suit of black iron armour to hold his ruined body together, sustained by dark magic and undying spite, Malekith led his followers into exile and forged the bleak realm of Naggaroth. For thousands of years since he has schemed, warred, and murdered toward a single end: to conquer Ulthuan, cast down the Phoenix Kings he names usurpers, and rule the whole elven race as he believes he was born to. He is a peerless warrior and perhaps the mightiest sorcerer in the world, and his hatred has not cooled in an age. The Witch King does not forgive, and he does not forget, and he will not die while his cause remains unfinished.
