The Darkshards are the massed missile troops of the Dark Elf host, disciplined warriors who wield the fearsome repeater crossbow with cold, murderous efficiency. Each of these weapons looses a rapid hail of bolts, and a company of Darkshards standing in ordered ranks can darken the sky with iron, cutting down charging cavalry and massed infantry alike before ever the foe draws near. Drilled without mercy in the drear cities of Naggaroth, the Druchii who fill their ranks regard marksmanship as simply another expression of their people's cruelty, taking a connoisseur's pleasure in a well-placed volley. They carry blades for the press of close combat, but it is at range that they excel, thinning and bloodying the enemy so that the rest of the army may fall upon a foe already reeling. Where the Darkshards hold the line, the ground before them becomes a killing field carpeted with the shafts of their bolts.
