The Dark Riders are the swift light horse of the Dark Elf armies, scouts and harriers mounted upon fierce Naggarothi steeds bred for speed and savagery. Ranging far ahead of the main host, they are the eyes of the army, seeking out the enemy's dispositions and screening the slower columns behind them. In battle they harass and torment, sweeping close to loose stinging volleys from their repeater crossbows before spurring away long before any counterblow can land, then wheeling to strike again from another quarter. Should they catch a foe already broken or unformed, they lower their spears and fall upon it without mercy, running down the fleeing with whoops of cruel delight. Masters of the feigned flight and the sudden ambush, the Dark Riders embody the Druchii way of war, patient, spiteful and utterly without honour, bleeding an enemy by a hundred cuts until the killing blow can be struck by heavier hands.
