The Shades are the scouts and assassins of the Dark Elf host, outcasts and hunters who forsake the ordered ranks to stalk the battlefield's shadowed margins. Clad in dark leathers and moving with predatory silence, they slip through ruins, woods and broken ground to strike from ambush, loosing repeater crossbow bolts into the flanks and backs of an unsuspecting foe. Many are exiles who dwell in the wild places of Naggaroth, and they bring the merciless patience of the hunter to war, choosing their marks with care and melting away before retaliation can find them. Should the enemy close, the Shades draw wicked blades and prove as deadly in the press as they are at range, for they are Druchii still, and cruelty is bred into their bones. Deployed to seize vantage and harry the enemy's vulnerable rear, the Shades are the silent knives of Naggaroth, ever where they are least wanted and least expected.
