The War Hydra is among the most fearsome monsters the druchii unleash, a vast and many-headed reptile from the dark places of Naggaroth, driven to battle by cruel beastmasters wielding whip and iron goad. Each of its serpentine heads can rend a warrior in two or vomit gouts of searing flame, and its thick, scaled hide turns aside all but the mightiest blows. Worst of all, the beast is horribly resilient: strike away a head and, in time, another may grow to replace it, so that the creature seems to fight on undiminished no matter the punishment heaped upon it. It takes the constant lash of its handlers to drive so wild a monster in the right direction, but once it is loose among the enemy the results are catastrophic, ranks scattered and burned and torn as the hydra rampages. To the druchii it is a living siege-engine, and to their foes a nightmare given fang and fire.
