Karond Kar

Karond Kar, the Tower of Despair, is the great slaving-port of the druchii, a grim harbour-city upon Naggaroth's cold coast where the black arks come home. To this place the raiding fleets return laden with their weeping cargo, and through its wharves and pens pass the countless thousands seized from the coastlines of the world — men, elves, and stranger folk, herded ashore in chains to be sorted, sold, and scattered across the black cities. The wailing of captives is said never to cease in Karond Kar, and it is from that endless lament that the city takes its bleak and fitting name.

The lords of Karond Kar are masters of the sea and the hunt, their corsairs among the most feared raiders ever to sail the world's oceans. From here the great black arks — floating fortress-islands of dark stone — set out upon their voyages of pillage, and to here they return to disgorge their spoils. Whole tribes and villages have vanished into the pens of the Tower of Despair, their names remembered only as another tally in the ledgers of the slave-masters. It is the open wound through which Naggaroth feeds, and the terror of every coast within reach of the sea.
