Exorcist

The Sisterhood's revered long-range battle tank, a mobile shrine whose pipe-organ launcher hurls armour-piercing missiles skyward in a storm of holy fire.

The Exorcist is the primary long-range battle tank of the Adepta Sororitas, and among the oldest machines in their service, its lineage reaching back to the Age of Apostasy, with a handful of surviving examples venerated as sacred relics of that distant age. Built upon the dependable Rhino chassis like most Sororitas vehicles, it is nonetheless unmistakable, for atop its hull rises the ornate Prioris-pattern launcher, an armoured edifice fashioned in the likeness of a great cathedral pipe organ from which its missiles roar skyward through vertical tubes.

That resemblance runs deeper than appearance. The Sister who works the launcher is titled not merely gunner but organist, and the rites of firing borrow the language of sacred music, adagio, movement, recital, and refrain, so that each salvo is delivered as though it were a hymn given lethal form. The missiles themselves are armour-piercing warheads potent enough to gut an enemy tank or annihilate a squad of heavy infantry in a single volley, when the temperamental machine does not misfire.

For all its firepower, the Exorcist's truest purpose in the eyes of the Sisterhood is to serve as a rolling shrine, a symbol of the Ecclesiarchy's might and glory carried onto the battlefield. Its inner workings are barely understood even by the Tech-Priests who tend it, and it demands constant maintenance and prayer to keep its capricious spirit appeased. To the Sisters this is no flaw but a mark of holiness: a weapon so sacred that it answers only to faith.
