Battle Sisters Squad

The backbone of every Sororitas company, disciplined bolter-armed squads who hold the line through faith alone.

The Battle Sisters Squad is the fundamental unit of the Adepta Sororitas, the formation from which every convent's fighting strength is built outward. Clad in blessed power armor and carrying boltguns consecrated by convent priests before ever being fired in anger, these squads form the disciplined core around which more specialized Sororitas formations maneuver. A Battle Sister does not fight as an individual soldier so much as a component of a larger liturgical act, her position in the firing line as prescribed by doctrine as any hymn's verse order.

What distinguishes these squads from equivalent Guard infantry is not raw firepower but sheer resolve. Battle Sisters have been raised since childhood to treat retreat as a moral failing rather than a tactical option, and squads have been recorded holding ground long after any rational calculation would suggest withdrawal, sustained by nothing but the conviction that the Emperor is watching. Many squads carry a Simulacrum Imperialis, a sacred standard bearing relics of a martyred Sister, into battle, a reminder embodied in cloth and bone that their sacrifice, should it come, joins a much longer and holier tradition.
