Order of the Argent Shroud

A silent, selfless Order of silver-clad Sisters who let their deeds speak for them, striking with lightning speed and committing utterly to the offensive.

Contents

The Order of the Argent Shroud is defined less by what its Sisters say than by what they do, for like their founder they hold that deeds honour the Emperor where words merely flatter Him. Silver-armoured and cloaked in white edged with red, they are a quiet Order, sparing of speech and lavish only in sacrifice, and their history is a litany of selfless heroism performed without expectation of witness or reward.

The Order was raised when the ancient Convent Prioris was divided, and it looks to Saint Silvana as its first mistress and guiding light. Silvana was renowned for a wordless devotion so complete that she gave everything of herself and asked nothing in return, and the Sisters who follow her example strive to embody that same humility even as they perform feats that would leave lesser warriors boasting for a lifetime. To an Argent Shroud Sister, glory sought is glory tainted; only the Emperor's judgement matters.

In battle the Order is swift and aggressive, favouring lightning assaults and fluid manoeuvre over the grinding advance of other Sisters. Argent Shroud companies commit themselves wholly to the offensive, striking with such speed that they frequently outrun their own support and fight on alone, cut off and surrounded, trusting to faith and momentum to see them through. Again and again they have hurled themselves into hopeless positions to shield the innocent or seize a sacred objective, content that their sacrifice, though unsung, is witnessed by the only eyes that matter.
