Fort Pykman keeps its lonely vigil amid the Ghoul Stars, a benighted and little-charted region lying beyond the Eastern Fringe to the galactic north-east of the Segmentum Ultima. Cast into the shadowed half of the galaxy known as the Imperium Nihilus, the fortress is among the most isolated of all the Deathwatch's bastions, its warriors left to hold the line with scant hope of reinforcement.
The stars it watches over teem with peril. From the darkness stalk the savage Barghesi, a warlike xenos species long marked by the Ordo Xenos, while beneath countless dead worlds the Necron dynasties stir from their aeons-long slumber, their tomb-cities flickering back to lethal wakefulness. Against such foes the garrison shows no restraint.
The kill-teams of Fort Pykman are unyielding proponents of the Malleus creed, favouring annihilation over caution. They stand ever ready to reduce ancient ruins and suspect sites to rubble at the merest flicker of evidence that they might be bound to a Tomb World or a nest of alien spawn, reasoning that a monument levelled in error is a small price beside a Necron lord left to wake. Command of this grim outpost falls to Watch Master Utorian Denash, whose warriors embody the fortress's hard creed: in the Ghoul Stars, mercy and hesitation are luxuries no watcher can afford.
Deathwatch
Order of battle
The Fort Pykman field the units of the Deathwatch — a detachment from the roster:
Kindred formations
Other Deathwatch formations
Tyrannic War SpecialistsA doctrine as much as a formation, the Tyrannic War Specialists are Deathwatch warriors who have dedicated their Long Watch to the destruction of the tyranids. Steeped in the anatomy and instinct of the Great Devourer, they field munitions and tactics honed across countless battles against the endless swarm.
Watch Fortress EriochAnchored deep within the tyranid-haunted reaches of the eastern frontier, Watch Fortress Erioch is among the most storied of Deathwatch strongholds. Its garrison has spent generations charting the migrations of hive fleets and answering the alien incursions that plague the surrounding sectors, becoming masters of the surgical strike against overwhelming numbers.
Watch Fortress NostradaWatch Fortress Nostrada guards a haunted stretch of the galaxy where ancient tomb worlds lie buried and stirring. Its garrison specialises in the war against the necrons, maintaining eternal vigil over dynasties that could wake at any moment to reclaim a domain older than the Imperium itself.
Watch Fortress Talasa PrimeThe headquarters and foremost training world of the Deathwatch, a fortress-planet within Ultramar where kill-teams are forged against the xenos.
Xenos Inquisitorial CadresThe most secretive arm of the Deathwatch, the Xenos Inquisitorial Cadres serve directly at the side of the Ordo Xenos. These hand-picked kill teams undertake the Inquisition's most sensitive alien-hunting missions, operating far beyond the sight of the wider Imperium and answering to inquisitorial masters alone.
