The Deathwatch call upon Veteran Bikers when the alien must be run to ground, matching the speed and ferocity of the swiftest xenos with the roar of superhuman warriors astride armoured steeds. Riding Assault Bikes and Raider-pattern combat bikes, these Veterans undertake long and perilous patrols deep into hostile territory to probe the enemy's strength, cut off its retreat, and fall upon it from the quarter it least expects.
Speed is their weapon as surely as the twin bolters mounted upon their machines. A lone rider is a scout and a harrier; a squadron becomes an unstoppable battering ram, smashing aside the alien's defences to lay bare its heart for the killing blow. Fed from the Deathwatch's hoard of special-issue ammunition, their guns can be tuned in an instant to crack carapace, pierce armour, or scythe down massed infantry, making each biker a threat to foes far above his apparent weight.
Bikers are most often found at the core of Venator kill-teams, the swift-striking hunting formations of the Long Watch. There their role is to encircle a nimble foe in wide, punishing sweeps, sharing the data streaming from their auspexes so that the rest of the team can loose salvo after salvo onto coordinates the riders themselves have marked. In this deadly partnership of velocity and precision the Deathwatch corner and destroy quarry that would slip through any slower net, proving that not even the fleetest xenos can outrun the Emperor's vengeance.
