Pathfinder Team

Pathfinder teams range ahead of the main Fire caste advance, tasked with locating and marking enemy positions before the heavier elements of a T'au force arrive to finish the engagement. Their signature tool is the markerlight, a targeting designator that paints a target with a data signature allied battlesuits, tanks, and Fire Warrior squads can lock onto with lethal precision, effectively transforming a Pathfinder's reconnaissance into a force multiplier for the entire army.

Beyond their designators, Pathfinders carry an assortment of specialized rail rifles and support drones suited to a role that prizes information gathering over direct confrontation. Vior'la Sept in particular has developed a reputation for pushing its Pathfinder teams unusually close to enemy lines, a reflection of that sept's characteristic appetite for calculated risk in pursuit of decisive advantage.
