Not every battle in service of the Greater Good is won at the measured distances the T'au Empire prefers. When the fighting spills into trench, tunnel and boarding-corridor, the Fire Caste sends in its Breacher Team, Fire Warriors armed with the brutal pulse blaster, a short-ranged weapon that trades all reach for staggering close-quarters killing power.
At a handful of paces a pulse blaster's fire tears through armour and body with appalling force, and a Breacher squad advancing in disciplined ranks can scour a bunker or starship compartment clean in seconds. To press so near the enemy runs against every Fire Caste instinct, so the teams go to war supported by a guardian drone that projects a protective shield and a gun drone to widen their arc of fire.
Breacher Teams are the Empire's answer to the horror of the close assault, a way to meet the enemy's most savage warriors on ground that should favour brute strength and yet still prevail through superior weaponry and unbreakable coordination. They are young, they are afraid, and they hold regardless, trusting the Greater Good to make their sacrifice mean something.
