The KV128 Stormsurge is one of the largest war-engines the T'au Empire fields without resorting to the immense Manta or Ta'unar, a piloted ballistic suit built by the Earth Caste to shatter the heaviest of enemy formations. Where the Riptide is a mobile hunter, the Stormsurge is walking artillery, deploying great stabilising anchors that bite into the ground and brace it against the colossal recoil of its guns.
At its heart is the pulse driver cannon, a weapon of such power that a single shot can gut a battle tank or bring down a gargant, supported by racks of destroyer missiles and cluster rockets that blanket the horizon in fire. Two pilots labour within its frame, one to walk and fight, the other to manage the storm of ordnance it pours forth.
So destructive is the Stormsurge that Fire Caste doctrine treats it as the anvil upon which an enemy assault is broken. Anchored and unmoving, it dares the foe to come within reach of its guns, and few who accept that challenge live to speak of what the deluge did to them.
