The XV95 Ghostkeel represents the summit of T'au stealth engineering, a battlesuit conceived for lone operations deep behind enemy lines. Enveloped in overlapping stealth fields cast by its attendant drone, the Ghostkeel moves all but unseen even across open ground. Targeting scopes slide from its holophoton projectors, auspexes drown in false returns, and the electrowarfare suite woven through its frame feeds the foe a storm of phantom contacts and contradictory data.
In battle the Ghostkeel is a terror weapon as much as a killing machine. Emerging without warning, it can gut an armoured squadron or scythe down ranks of infantry in a single ambush, its firepower so sudden and so concentrated that survivors are convinced an entire army has fallen upon them. By the time they gather their wits and search for their tormentor, it has melted back into the murk to strike again elsewhere.
Each XV95 is entrusted to a single, exhaustively trained shas'vre drawn from the veteran ranks of the Stealth Teams, guided by an integrated artificial intelligence that manages the suit's labyrinthine systems and watches over the pilot's body and mind through long solitary missions. The first Ghostkeels were forged in secret near the abandoned sept of N'dras, and on the direct order of the Ethereal Supreme they carried out deep-cover strikes from sabotage to assassination, work that must never be traced back to the Empire.
