The Moirax War-dog Armiger is a light Knight of rare Mechanicum manufacture, smaller and swifter than the Questoris engines and fielded in loping packs to support the greater war-suits of a household. Armed with esoteric weaponry—lightning locks, volkite veuglaires, and graviton imploders—the Moirax punches far above its weight, hunting enemy armour and screening the towering Knights from harm.
Where the common Armigers of the 41st millennium are blunt instruments, the Moirax pattern retains the forbidden sophistication of the Age of Darkness, its weapons capable of felling foes that should be beyond so slight an engine. Piloted by younger scions or bonded retainers of a household, they range ahead and to the flanks of the main lance, a swift and vicious pack that runs down what the great Knights drive before them. In the Heresy, a household's Moirax often decided the smaller, sharper engagements upon which larger battles turned.
