The Questoris Knight Paladin was the archetypal war-suit of the Knight houses, a versatile and well-balanced engine that formed the backbone of many a household's strength. Standing head and shoulders above the tanks it fought beside yet nimble enough to cross broken ground at speed, the Paladin married a powerful ranged weapon with a mighty reaper chainsword, allowing it to duel enemy armour at distance or wade into close combat and cleave lesser foes asunder. Its rapid-fire battle cannon could shred infantry and light vehicles alike, while its ion shields turned aside incoming fire from the direction of greatest threat. A Paladin was the very image of the mounted champion, a single scion's courage and skill amplified into a walking fortress. In the wars of the Great Crusade and the Heresy, ranks of Paladins formed the disciplined heart of a household's battle-line, advancing beneath their house banners to break the enemy through balanced and unrelenting force.
