The Knight Errant was a close cousin of the Paladin, a Questoris war-suit that traded the battle cannon for the thermal cannon, a fearsome short-ranged weapon that could vaporise armour and reduce fortifications to slag. This armament made the Errant a dedicated hunter of the enemy's heaviest engines, a war-suit that closed the distance beneath its ion shields and unleashed a blast of superheated fury that few tanks or Dreadnoughts could survive. Like all Questoris Knights it retained a reaper chainsword for the press of close combat, allowing it to finish in melee what its thermal cannon had begun at range. Scions who rode to war as Errants were often those who prized the direct and aggressive kill, closing with the foe rather than duelling from afar. In the Heresy's great battles, Errants stalked the enemy's armoured spearheads and monstrous walkers, seeking the decisive shot that would gut a foe no lesser weapon could harm, and few sights so unnerved an enemy crew as a Knight Errant striding toward them.
