The Acastus Knight Porphyrion ranks among the most heavily armed and armoured war-suits ever to bear the name of Knight, a leviathan whose every line is given over to the delivery of overwhelming firepower at the expense of speed and grace. Even in the golden age of the Great Crusade the Porphyrion was a rare sight, its manufacture so demanding that only a handful of the wealthiest and most ancient households could field even a single example. Where such an engine walks, it serves as the ultimate expression of a household's dominion, the iron enforcer of a lord's rule over his own scions as surely as over his enemies.
The Porphyrion's principal weapons are a pair of twin-linked Magna Lascannons, energy weapons of an order of destruction beyond even the vaunted Sollex-pattern heavy lascannons of the Mechanicum, able to gut a super-heavy tank or gouge a wound in the void shields of a Titan. These are supported by a paired autocannon mount, frequently exchanged for further lascannon batteries when the foe fields heavy armour, and by a carapace array of missiles that fills the sky above the battlefield with death. Slow and ponderous the Porphyrion may be, but it advances with the inexorability of a moving fortress, and few foes indeed can weather the storm of fire it brings to bear.
