Armiger Helverin

The Armiger Helverin is a fire-support variant of the light Armiger class, exchanging close-combat weaponry for a pair of long-barrelled autocannons that rain shells upon distant foes. Swift and agile like its Warglaive kin, the Helverin ranges the battlefield's flanks, laying down withering barrages against light armour and infantry while the greater Knights close for the kill.

Where the Armiger Warglaive is a close-quarters hunter, the Armiger Helverin is a ranged skirmisher, built to support the household from a distance. In place of the Warglaive's chainblade and thermal spear, the Helverin mounts twin Helverin autocannons, long-barrelled weapons that spit a relentless stream of high-velocity shells. This armament makes the Helverin ideal for suppressing enemy infantry, downing aircraft, and shredding light vehicles.

Like all Armigers, the Helverin is swift and manoeuvrable, able to reposition across the battlefield with a speed the great Questoris Knights cannot match. It uses this mobility to find the perfect firing angle, harrying the enemy's flanks and denying them room to manoeuvre. Helverins are frequently deployed in pairs, doubling their already considerable volume of fire.

The Helverin's pilots are often younger scions or sworn armiger warriors, earning their honour through disciplined marksmanship rather than the glory of the charge. In the great household lances, the Helverin fills a vital role, its guns clearing the way for the mightier machines that follow behind.
