The Knight Gallant is the close-combat specialist of the Questoris-class engines, a war-suit stripped of long-ranged weaponry and given over entirely to the savage art of the charge. It is a machine for the boldest and most bloody-minded of Nobles, those scions whose tempers burn too hot for the patient exchange of cannon fire and who crave instead the visceral certainty of the killing blow struck by their own hand.
The Gallant carries a Reaper Chainsword upon one arm and a Thunderstrike Gauntlet upon the other, forsaking the great guns of its cousins in favour of weapons that can rend, crush and dismember at arm's length. The chainsword's monstrous teeth can shear clean through the hull of a tank, while the gauntlet can seize an enemy war engine, tear it from its footing and cast the ruin aside like a broken toy. A Noble raised to pilot a Gallant is taught three simple articles of faith as their Throne Mechanicum is first consecrated: to place their trust in the Ion Shield, to make all haste toward the enemy, and to strike swiftly and true. It is a creed that admits no hesitation, and among their more measured peers the pilots of the Gallant are reckoned the most reckless and combative of all the Knights of the Imperium.
